Business Life’s recent City edition takes a closer look at how tech and collaboration are helping to bring the City and Channel Islands closer together.

With a strong relationship between our Guernsey, Jersey and London offices, PraxisIFM features several times throughout the edition.

In ‘A rich blend’ Managing Director of Corporate Services in our London office Donna Shorto reflects on how she has noticed a shift in clients’ mindsets since the new property tax regime came into place, along with the changes to double tax agreements with the Crown Dependencies.

‘Whereas offshore vehicles would have previously taken preference, onshore vehicles are now being considered more readily’.

Following on from Donna, Senior Company Secretarial Manager Matt Falla spoke with Business Life about what the future of corporate travel looks like in ‘Is the future up in the air?’.

Mounting environmental, social and governance (ESG) responsibilities had already bought the necessity of corporate travel into question, but since COVID-19 forced travel restrictions upon us and accelerated this process, how will companies fair in this new world?

Matt discusses how the companies that have already invested in remote working and video conferencing technology were at a significant advantage throughout the lockdown. He also covers the key considerations for businesses looking to adopt a more virtual way of working.

Donna Short adds to the ESG discussion in ‘ESG – The new dimension in real-estate’, commenting that investors need evidence that companies’ ESG policies are more than just lip service. This is particularly relevant for succession planning when a new generation of investors are stepping up.
