Grow With Us

Our staff are fundamental to our success and we recognise the importance of investing in them and their career with us.

This ‘grow our talent’ ethos is a continual process and in practice means we are committed to training and development. We offer our staff support and encouragement to diversify their skills by offering personal development plans, relocation and secondment opportunities and wellness benefits.

We provide support for those wishing to develop their career via ACCA, STEP or other in other specialist areas. We are delighted to have ‘ACCA Approved Employer – Trainee Development, Platinum’ status which recognises the support provided to our own employees who are ACCA trainees who are working towards an ACCA qualification. We also hold an ‘ACCA Approved Employer – Professional Development’ status which recognises the continuing professional development opportunities provided to our ACCA members.

In 2021 we were awarded the STEP Platinum Employer Partner accreditation in Guernsey, Jersey, UK and Switzerland, the highest of three awards under STEP’s Employer Partnership Programme. To be awarded at this level, there has to be evidence of a strong learning culture, with a positive work and learning environment.

We believe that training and development is vital not only to our success but also our staff’s on-going growth and development.

PraxisIFM has an above industry average ratio of professionally qualified or currently studying staff, which gives them confidence in their skills, cements the knowledge they gain through their day-to-day work and helps them build their own peer network.

We support a variety of professional qualifications including:

  • ACCA
  • ICSA
  • MSc Corporate Governance
  • STEP

Many of our senior management team joined us as trainees and have developed their careers with us. From day one at PraxisIFM you will be offered the tools you need to progress, including a tailored on-the-job training programme and continual support to develop such as:

  • Exposure to project work to diversify your skill base
  • Stretching but achievable objectives
  • Opportunity to attend industry-leading seminars
  • Opportunity to be seconded to another office

We partner with the Guernsey Careers Service and schools to offer work experience placements to the island’s students, giving them the opportunity to learn about different roles within the company, help them gain confidence and prepare for the world of work.

Our tailored programme gives students a great taster of the variety of roles available within finance.

PraxisIFM is pleased to support this great initiative, which allows students to shadow a senior manager. The Institute of Directors Management Shadowing Programme presents a rare opportunity for Guernsey sixth form students to gain first hand experience of management in action which may include staff relations, dealing with clients and the public, administration, time management and organisational skills. Its breadth can only be fully appreciated when experienced at first hand.

We are delighted to be able to offer a bursary to assist Guernsey students during their three year degree course. We offer £2,500 each academic year with guaranteed work during the summer months.
